You lose pro mode in videos but photos still there.

These may not matter to you, but you lose app icons without frames option and card or list view in recents.

I'm worried about security more than anything else. I use a screen recorder app. I also use different camera apps. One can record with the screen off or if I'm on another app.

Am I still able to have apps work in the background like that?

You lose the function to scroll recent menu vertically like a rolodex. I hate this side way thing

don't know if you can disable the bixby button but you can set it so that only a long press will launch bixby.
this way if you accidentally do a short press nothing will happen.

I use an app called bxActions that allows me to remap the Bixby button. If I press the Bixby button it activates my Google assistant. No more Bixby.

I set Bixby to require a double-press to launch and then I installed bxactions (full, paid) to remap the single-press and long-press of the Bixby button to custom actions. I have not once accidentally launched Bixby since.

1. Easy custom fonts installation (thanks to Wings and themeGalaxy)
2. Samsung Clockface app for additional AOD and Lock Screen clock styles
3. Now my call recorder barely works. My voice is low and the other side is VERY low. I use TotalRecall.
