What do you all think about the new Nexus 10?
What do you like and dislike?
How do think it compares to the competition?
More importantly, will you consider buying one?

Have fun,

Tom

^Exactly. I prefer the 7" screen for a portable e-reader/web browser/light note-taking/netflix device, and that's pretty much how the N10 advertises itself. It'd be redundant for me to have two devices for the same purpose, the only difference being a bit more in screen size/resolution. Though, different people use tablets for different purposes.

Up until a couple weeks ago I thought I'd surely jump on the N10 if/and/or/when it came out--but then I realized there's no point for me. If I wanted a larger tablet, I'd want something with Windows 7/8, so I can run full programs. Or I might pick up a used tab and run Ubuntu on it :P.

I have a Nexus 7 and I may get this as well. What would truly seal the deal for me would be a keyboard dock. I don't think that would happen but a guy can dream right. Anyways, this thing is a beast. I use my N7 so much now, I'm trying to figure out how I could split time so to speak. I am 95% sure I will be buying this, I will find and/or make up uses for it :)

That is where MS is going to screw so many people. There will be very few Windows 8 tablets that can run full applications. Windows 8 RT does NOT run standard Windows applications and the non RT tablets are going to cost a fortune and will not bundle apps like Office. Why not just remote desktop into your desktop computer?

I think the Nexus 10 is unfortunately ugly. I don't like the bowed sides, it seems to make the bezel look huge. And the back is made of plastic (which I don't mind), but why do they have a separate strip of plastic at top around the camera? Usually that's done with aluminum tablets because of the antennas, but it's not needed in this case and just looks tacky. The tablet just looks cheap to me, I'm disappointed with Samsung's design guys on this one.

Unfortunately it's the only 10 inch Nexus tablet we got and the hardware inside is quite awesome.

I had returned my Nexus 7 16GB two weeks ago in anticipation for the 32GB Nexus 7. But I think I'll just get the larger Nexus 10 instead. I loved the feel and size of the Nexus 7 (and it looks a hell of a lot better than the Nexus 10 in design). But I was disappointed with the screen quality of the Nexus 7 (ASUS didn't bother calibrating it seems) and this S4 Pro is going to be a lot more powerful than the Tegra 3, and the DPI is even better. So I think I'll pass on the Nexus 7 and get a Nexus 10 now.

Hopefully the Nexus 10 doesn't look as ugly in person as it has to me in pictures and videos so far. But I can live with it if it does.

The price and specs are certainly amazing, granted I am not a huge fan of the looks and would prefer a little more sleek design there is not question it is the best bang for your buck. I think the 7 and 10 are going to sell extremely well going into the xmas season with the price point they are at.

Me personally I am waiting for a new 8-9 inch tablet...rumor there might be a new note in the 8 inch range which would be perfect for me.

The design has grown onme. Reminds me alot of the HP touchpad. I think it needed to be more sleek to compete with other tablets in the retail space.

Google tablets are very impressive and the build quality is second to none. I prefer my Nexus 7 over a 10 inch screen but if I were in the market for a big tablet I wouldn't hesitate to get the Nexus over anything else. At that price point I don't know why someone would consider anything else.

I'm definitely buying one, can't wait. Love the overall design and screen resolution. Great price too. It's all a win for me.

Getting one of these so I will be all nexus devices. I love my gnex and n7 so why not get the n10 with that beautiful display and that awesome processor. Im getting an iPad 4 also because I like some apps on iPad Haha, but the n10 is going to be amazing

I think it's going to be a very nice device. It looks good on paper. Even though they went with a dual-core processor, it will be able to do computational processes like no other. And, I'm sure the screen is going to look nice.

But, I'll pass. My TF700 is nice enough, with a keyboard dock.

Spec wise it can not be beat. Price wise it can not be beat. It is ugly as hell though. I am sitting this one out I think at least for now. I have my N7 and am ordering the N4 but I think I would rather go Chrome book for now instead of another 10 inch tablet. I just would rathet use my 7 inch N7 and get work done on my Windows PC and Chrome book for now. If Google releases some accessories for the larget tablet maybe I might consider it. MAYBE.

I don't usually post replies in the forums. I am more of a reader to learn about products and opinions, but I have felt this way for years and just have to get it off my chest. I don't understand why all companies will claim to make a kick ass product with next generation specs and then kill it by using a hybrid of next gen specs and old specs. I love android and I currently have a GS3 on Verizon and plan to upgrade to either the Note 2 or the HTC DLX/DNA though I am leaning toward Note 2 since HTC has very drab icons. Case in point, Google has a quad core nexus 4 and a quad core nexus 7 so why on God's green earth would they only make the Nexus 10 a dual core? MAybe I am missing something here and someone can explain the rationalization to me. Samsung already has a Note 10.1 with awesome ram, awesome front facing speakers, and good on board storage, but then they screw it up by not even making the screen full hd at 1920X1080. Then Samsung and google come along and do the exact opposite. They give the Nexus 10 Ipad beating screen resolution (even though that high is only as good as the source) same great memory and front facing speakers but last years processor technology and only a 5 meg camera on back with no flash. Also, if Google doesnt want security issues by having a micro sdxc slot then they have to make their Nexus line come with at least 64gb of built in storage and then preferably a 128gb model. 32 and 64 models have been standard with Apple for years. It's time Android stepped up in this department. Why would you even make a Nexus 4 8gb? The Galaxy Nexus was 32gb so make the Nexus 4 32 or 64. I myself have an Asus tf700t which could be argued to be the best tablet on the market until the Nexus 10 screen resolution comes out. It has a1.6 quad core processor, 8meg cam on back with flash and bsi and wide angle, 2 meg HD cam on front, but then they botch it up by only including 1meg of ram instead of 2 and then putting 2 speakers on the back on top of each other instead of spreading them apart for even sound field. I just don't get it. I feel like I could design a better tablet only because I am an end user and know what consumers are really looking for in High End Devices. I could site tons more examples but I am not writting a book I suppose. Any feedback and/or explanations would be greatly appreciated.

I was really looking forward to seeing a 10 inch nexus tablet. I currently have a Gnex,
a N7 and a HP Touchpad.(All on Cyanogenmod)
I want to replace my Touchpad, and was going to do so with the N10. I was surprised that the price point did not come in at $300 so that was the first thing that was discouraging to me. Next was that they did not stick with the quad core tegra 3, although I hear the exynos might actually be faster than the tegra 3, but ill wait to see. My last big gripe about the N10 has to be the 7 inch tablet layout. I know its an easy change to the build.prop but who knows if it will end up being better.
I do like the styling and how light and thin it is, so i am still not 100% sold, i just really wish it came in at $300.

Anyway thats my .02
