What do you think of my theory?

I'm generally skeptical of any theory that espouses a one-size-fits-all approach to something as complicated as consumer electronics. There are a bunch of things that different people value in different proportion, and that coupled with aesthetic taste means that there's no such thing as a perfect product for everyone.

Your theory might be right, or, it might not be.

One thing I know for certain tho, I have a hard enough time researching and choosing my device, sure as hell ain't got time to research and care about what other people choose is best for them!

Yet what are their next two big phones? Keyboard phones. They have, for now, given up the consumer market to go back to their roots.

It's more like blackberry realised they can't beat Apple and Android, so they have chosen to continue marketing to people who still want a physical keyboard on their phones. Basically making the best out of a very bad situation.

I believe that if people were more adept and familiar with technology and software companies such as Apple, Beats, and even Microsoft wouldn't be as prominent as they are now. No one would buy iPhones because they would know how much more Android offers. Consumers wouldn't buy Beats because they could just by Audio Technicas at half the price with better sound quality. And people wouldn't use Windows as they could use Linux for their OS and Android as their preferred choice for phones.
What's your input on this theory.

It can go either way, IMO. Android is not without its fair share of drawbacks. In the very least, people would be able to make more informed decisions before purchasing a phone, but I disagree that more people will flock to android because of this.

In the very least, this would hopefully stop people from insisting that android phones are better because they sport 4 cores, compared to the iPhone's 2 cores. But of course, this would be in Apple's favour, so I can see how some people might be more interested to let this misunderstanding persist.

Exactly.

To an extent. You still need to take into consideration that Apple is still a powerful name brand and many people buy on the sheer force of having a popular brand alone, all other considerations be damned

Then you are ignorant to what happens, or you live in a certain place with a different mentality. But this mentality of buying the newest just because it's new exist. Stroll around these forums and see it for yourself. Don't jump to make my argument invalid because you haven't witnessed it or unaware of it.

Please don't post a close minded opinion with no ground to it and say your opinion is correct. This is an act of ignorance and damages those who read it. So before you post, understand what you are replying to, know what you have to deliver and deliver it in the most accurate and understandable meaning you can so your words won't be empty.
Thanks in advance and good luck.

These forums are in no way representative of the public at large. By the fact that we are here, we are technology enthusiasts. Your average consumer gets a phone on subsidy on a 2 year plan and upgrades when the plan is up. Usually means they upgrade every second version.
