I use Wallet as well as transfer files to/from other devices. Just wondering what other things people use it for.

Also, any particular tags work best with the N5? Thanks.

I've only used "Wallet" at the vending machine at work and just to test it out.. I used it to transfer some files from one phone to another.. I will also use if I am on my phone get home and want to continue that webpage on my N7.... Nice that you just click and it switches over..

I ordered some of these with my Wireless charger for the heck of it and they work pretty good...

TYLT • Tagz + • Programmable NFC Stickers

I just got them to play around with....

The only time I've ever used NFC was to demonstrate to people S-Beam on my previous S3. Apart from that I usually have it switched off as I dont seem to have any use for it. I'm begging for Visa or Google to come out with a payment app that I can link to my credit cards.

Some stores I shop at use it, but otherwise not much. It's just America is slow to adapt the technology compared to some other countries who utilize it more.

I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong? According to an article I read, you transfer a file by turning NFC on both devices, highlighting a file, and holding the devices close together. Then both devices are supposed to vibrate, and then the file transfers?

But when I tried it, there was no vibrate on either device and nothing happened. So, what should I try? Thanks.

Are these two android devices? if so android beam needs to be turned on. if you are sending files you won't be able to without another app I use superbeam. Android beam does contacts, photos, webpages, youtube videos and I'm not sure what else. Superbeam uses all types of files.

For android beam just have the file open then touch the two devices.
for superbeam you highlight the items hit send and choose superbeam from the list.

Thank you! I will try this. The article I read didn't mention using anything special but this makes sense. I'll get superbeam and try again.:beer::D

Awesome, 2 votes for! Just one more question, should it be installed on both devices in order to make a one way file transfer? As soon as my other phone is done charging I'm going to try this. Thank you for the tip.:beer::D

Yes, install on both. If both devices are on the same wifi network, it can also use wifi to transfer via qr code, as well as NFC.

I used to use NFC tags with my Nexus 4. I wonder if the old Samsung ones work with the Nexus 5.

I thought Google Wallet does link to your credit cards? I have it linked to my visa check card as well as my Mastercard and when I use Google wallet/NFC payment it shows up in my Google Wallet transactions but it also shows up as a credit card payment on my checking/credit card accounts...

Thank you. It worked! Good heavens it's nearly instantaneous! :D It only did two files though so now I'm waiting for my Google order to have a few minutes so my paid unlocked can be downloaded on both phones.

It's excellent! Thank you again. Can't get over how fast it is.:beer::D

I trigger commands to tell my home automation server to perform tasks. I have a white sticker on the white trim on the inner door area, it disarms security, turns on lights (if its dark). When I'm leaving, it does the opposite (shut down lights, turn off stereo/TV, turn down HVAC, etc).

I also have one in the car, turns on SMS-reading but only when its on USB power.

Google Wallet does do that but I'm in the UK so no Google Wallet support from me at the moment. =[
