What does error message Couldn't sign in mean on Droid Turbo?

what does error message "Couldn't sign in" mean on Droid Turbo

This error message continues to pop up. The account it is referencing is my email account, not my Google account. I continue to receive emails with no apparent problem.

Welcome to Android Central! Is this only appearing when you're using the stock Email app? If so, try removing each email account, then adding them back again.
