When I connect my N9 to gear frontier with bluetooth my batterylife last longer when it's out of bluetooth forwarding calls is there something wrong with my N9 ??

Can you clarify what you mean by "...when it's out of bluetooth forwarding calls.."?

Ok when my gear frontier is not connected to my note 9 via bluetooth the watch is still connected to the note 9 but only through call forwarding for example if someone calls me and the phone rings three times after the third ring the call goes straight to my watch but I notice battery drain i dont know why

Is your frontier a Bluetooth version or 3G version?

When your frontier is not connected via Bluetooth to your phone it connects to the 3G network. Using 3G uses more energy than Bluetooth. That would explain your extra battery usage.
But I thought the watch uses it's own 3g network

It does. The wireless connection to 3G uses more energy than the Bluetooth connection.

When the frontier is connected to your phone via Bluetooth it doesn't use the 3G connection.

Ok so if the watch was on stand alone mode instead of call forwarding I wouldn't be losing batterylife also ???

The phone is using wifi to handle a call for the watch - that keeps the phone's 3G connection running and it keeps the phone's wifi connection running, using more battery than if the phone just rings 3 times then stops.

I would think that stand alone mode would use the same amount of battery as call forwarding when not connected via Bluetooth to your phone.

Connected via Bluetooth to the phone is the method which uses the least amount of battery and still gives you notifications, etc.

If you want to use basic watch functions with absolute minimum battery usage, put the watch in Airplane mode.

I think the OP is saying his PHONE is losing battery when connected to the watch. Not that the watch is losing more battery

Yea he's referring to the phone and not the watch. I've never paid attention to the drain my phone has when my watch is connected during remote, but when you think about it having them both disconnected will drain a phone faster because not only does it push your calls it also fowards any text and notifications you have set up for the watch to receive. Hope this answers your question op.

Maybe the phone has to do some pushing for text and notifications but typically the call bounce/forwarding is done at the carrier.

True but notifications definitely come from the phone. I get any notification that's sent to my phone sent to my watch when in remote connecting. That just like data sync can drain the battery although I can't imagine it being a big number.

I do think the phone drain slightly faster after getting the watch and having Bluetooth on all the time but maybe only about 10% over the day soless than 1% an hour
