What does Jerry mean and other questions....

LOL. You phrased your question like a lawyer!

It makes sense for me. I like answers to questions and the method to getting those answers is to ask the question that will get the most precise answer without further question.

Hoping someone can put in layman's terms what all this means...

I had planned on getting a 64GB microsd to store music, photos and movies on within my Note 2.

Does Samsung's implementation (or lack there of) mean I can expect attempting to do so to be problematic? If so, how? Will it be difficult to succesfully save or is there a higher than normal risk of losing what is stored there, even on a non-rooted device?

Many thanks in advance.

You will have no problem saving your music, photos, and movies to the micro sd card. You will not lose any of it unless the micro sd card somehow goes bad, which I doubt will happen.

So what exactly is happening in this thread? I don't follow or at least I need some clarification regarding the SD card and Samsung/Android.

I think Jerry does a much better job of explaining than I can, but here goes:

* Google/Android OS will no longer support sd cards.
* Support for sd cards will have to come from Samsung, HTC, Motorola, etc.
* Owners of the Note 2 (and other phones with sd cards) will still have full access to their sd cards just like they do right now, but because 4.2 doesn't support sd cards, Samsung will have to rework the OS to better integrate them or alter 4.2 to work with their phones.
* For the future, Samsung, HTC, Motorla, etc will either have to forego sd cards or simply code a path to the sd card that will work with all subsequent versions of android so that phones will have an easy time upgrading.

Those are the basics. Let me know if you have any questions.
