What does Refreshing SIM Data mean?

A few minutes ago, I got a little/notification on the bottom of my screen saying something along the lines of Refreshing SIM Data. This is the first time I've gotten this message. What does it mean, and should I be worried about it?

I don't think it's anything to worry about. I'd guess the carrier was probably refreshing data about the network. You could contact your carrier and ask them if they have more details.
