Try downloading the apk from online. APK mirror is what I use

You can find an updated apk, but for me it still didn't enable podcasts.

No Google Play Music Podcast section on my phone.
I have version 6.6.2612Y.2725627 on a Nexus 6P Android 6.0.1 Build MHC19Q.

And no app update in the Play Store.

I just tried it since it was slightly newer than the one I tried Monday. Still no luck. Even rebooted.

Maybe it's for Marshmallow only for now and the other versions get the update later? I don't know. That's the only difference I see.

From what I've read it may require a server side switch too. Maybe an update to Google play services?

I'm in the US so that isn't my problem. You are right on the restrictions though.

My ATT Galaxy s7 edge has yet to get the update and yet my fiancee's GS7 flat just got it yesterday. Makes sense since I want it and she doesn't lol

My Play Music just updated via Play Store. Description said Podcast support and ability to auto download latest 3 episodes. That's all great, however my updated Play Music still doesn't have a podcast section haha. I am looking forward to the phone implementation of this as I want to see how well it works with Wear. Pocketcasts sucks with Wear IMO. Crashes often. This staged roll-out is so dumb. This is a simple update to add a feature that should have been there a long time ago. It's not a major OS update haha.

Update just showed up for download for me. New icon. No podcast section for me either.
