What does the phone symbol with outgoing lines mean on my S8

I have the new samsung galaxy S8 and at the top of my screen a symbol appears of a phone with outgoing little rings, my phone is not on, im only open in my home screen.
I did a google and apparently the symbol means speaker is on?
It only appears every now and then and then dissapears again.

WiFi calling? This would explain the intermittent nature, it likely only shows when connected to WiFi.

Are you on a network extender? That could be the logo for that.

Wifi calling. It just means your phone calls will be routed through Wifi.
