What Does The Phone Use WiFi For?

Sorry if it's a noob question but this is my first phone with WiFi. Does it use whatever is the most robust for the task IOW use it for web browsing rather than the cell connection when available?

Very summarized answer: When on a Wi-Fi network, your Incredible will have access to the same internet speeds as a PC would on the same Wi-Fi network. When not on a Wi-Fi network, you're restricted to 3G.

If connected to wifi your phone will use that for anything data related. Once you disconnect it will go back to using cell towers.

Yes. An email came through via WiFi while I was on a call.
