What Droid Doesn't Do?

Screen captures without home replacement apps or rooting would be nice. Even if it was an app, that would be cool, just not a full- blown home replacement for just a simple screen shot.

I'd like the zoom-in scope that the iPhone has.. take your finger right under a letter or word and it magnifies the word, etc..

Swype is a great keyboard replacement.

I really like it. As with any input method, some will and some won't.

They should also put fingerprint readers on phones. Think of all the cool apps and better security.

As long as it's a fingerprint reader that can't be defeated with Gummi Bears...

Better copy/paste capability
Text input that learns your preferences ala blackberry

Hopefully, in time, the Droid will do these things. Until then I will be patient because the Droid DOES more than it DOESN'T!

Except Bluetooth initiated voice dialing...

This works with the car dock. when I dock mine, and it's connected to the bluetooth on my pioneer, I can hit the voice search button, and say "call *contact name*" and it will dial them right up. I can also google search a company this way, and dial right from that screen through my bluetooth.

according to the application information in the market it says ***ROOT ACCESS REQ.*** is this true? Im not really feeling rooting my phone just yet

Yep. You need root to mount the card in two places at once. Another reason to just go for it

What's really sad? The Hero Eris AND Cliq do this, and do it pretty damn well. Verizon needs their butt kicked for putting out the Droid with no option for Blur, and no plans to offer it later. Verizon dollars speak, and I'm sure Moto would have bent over backwards for them. I was OK with this at first to keep the whole "Google experience" going, but Moto, Big Red and Google had to have known about the Nexus and the new Moto Google phone long ago. There's no reason this phone shouldn't be slated for a OS upgrade like the Magic was just recently given, and if it is someone needs to mention it to the 2 million people who bought the phone and deserve to know. Go to a Tmo store and use a Cliq. Then tell me you wouldn't like that option on Droid hardware. It's a game to keep something back that makes the "next big thing" look better.

And Blur/Sense without the screen resolution sucks on the Droid, so it's a waiting game until HTC puts out Sense on a .29+ kernel or Moto does the same with Blur.
