What features or options do you hope the S8 has?

Re: What do YOU want to see in our Galaxy S8 forums?

I would really like to see a black matte finish as one of the colors for the S8. Why must they always all be so glossy? Ugh! All this gloss reminds me of glitter and I hate glitter. LOL

Re: What do YOU want to see in our Galaxy S8 forums?

I'm interested in any Carrier Upgrade Deals/Plans that aren't known to the general public. The new activation plans all always posted, but the less publicized ones... Ie, how much will it cost to trade in my S7 for the S8.

Re: What do YOU want to see in our Galaxy S8 forums?

I am very interested in knowing more about it's battery life
Cheers

I want great battery life. I'm tired of barely getting through a day. Forget these supper thin phones and add some CM & weight to give me a bigger battery.

I totally agree. It seems that the only smartphones with decent battery capacity are low and mid range ones from Chinese brands. I want a high end phone with 4000mAh batteries.

Re: What do YOU want to see in our Galaxy S8 forums?

My S7's camera is perfect. Only problem is with the low light shots. Dont hate me but there is too much noise under some occasions. Pixel & Nexus's HDR+ mode is perfect for destroying noise and making low light shots better. A feature similar to HDR+ can be added to the S8's software as an upgrade.

Re: What do YOU want to see in our Galaxy S8 forums?

The bad news is that not all devices come with the necessary hardware and drivers for USB On-The-Go (OTG) capability.
The fastest and most effective solution that allows USB devices, such as tablets or smartphones, to act as a host, allowing other USB devices, such as USB flash drives, digital cameras, mice or keyboards, to be attached to them.
So I hope that S8 shall have the chance to be capable of supporting OTG-type external USB accessories.

Cheers

Re: What do YOU want to see in our Galaxy S8 forums?

I know there are usually different variants based on carriers and such. Was hoping there will be an unlocked variant that supports CDMA and GSM with full support for all 4 major carriers in the USA. I always have a few complaints about new flagship releases due to the lack of specific features or some sort of shortcoming. If it's a SnapDragon 821, I'd say it would have to be extremely special to sway the loyalists of other brands like LG's V20 or G6 or even the Pixel XL.

Every flagship phone should meet or exceed much sought after specs. Samsung Flagships have been coming in recent years have been coming with leading edge specs where loyalists of other brands have to compromise
At bare minimum -
1. Snapdragon 821
2. Screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels w/500+ppi density
3. Waterproofing
4. Video 2160p@30fps, 1080p@60
5. Always expect Wireless a,b,g,n,ac, 2x2 mu mimo
6. Fingerprint sensor
7. Wireless Charging
8. Quickcharge 3.0
9. Micro-SD Card
10. Worthy battery Size. 3000mah or more is expected but I prefer 4000mah or better with excellent management
11. Android N 7.1 - What is the problem with phones currently being released still getting Android N 7.0? Few get the latest 7.1 and everyone already knows even though it's getting better, the updates never seem to be prompt or on time except on Google devices.

I am sure I forgot a few things. These are just specs I believe many people including myself want to see. I pick on LG alot because they made great progress with the quality and specs on their V and G series lineup. Some specs on some phones are better than Samsung but with LG, you have to buy 2 or 3 of their high end flagships and blend the best specs between them just to get all of the much sought after features, in one handset. But they compromise on specifications that make no sense sometimes. I mean from a competitive standpoint, if you want to compete, then you must complete. A rhyme just sounded good there. LG gets some of their fans P.O'd. Compromises like 1080p@30fps on the V20, pulling quad dac from US variants of the G6 & offering it to Korea but then stripping Europe of wireless charging?

I've been trying to find reasons to justify my next flagship purchase. But as always, there is always something about a new release that turns me off and I sit back waiting for the next big release. The schedule is becoming rather consistent for the new releases of flagships from iPhone, Samsung S series/note series, LG V series/G series, and now, Google is up there with the best with their Pixel lineup and Lenovo/Moto always has hidden gems that many people overlook. I mean, the Moto G4 Plus is an absolute masterpiece at the pricepoint it is selling at. That phone will work on all 4 major carriers. Why they only put a wireless support for abgn and NOT ac and/or 2x2 mumimo is probably the only reason I didn't buy one. If the wifi was up to par and the screen was beefed up to flagship level, with waterproofing, and people knew about it, the G4 Plus might have been the most sensible option on the planet,. All that with a snapdragon 821 , & Android n, the G4 Plus could have taken the prize. it would have wiped the floor against all the flagship killers like One Plus, LeEco, Huwai and others for sure. Moto phones are excellent

LG & Samsung seem to be the ones about to go toe to toe. The Pixel is still going strong but they won't be releasing upgraded specs until later this year. LG never seems to make a complete phone with all of their top end specs. It's as if they want you to buy the V20 for high end audio/video, the G6 for wireless charging/waterproofing. Promoting improved quad-Dac in the G6 over the V20 was not a good marketing idea. It might be if someone is knowledgeable about the true functionality of the phones but if you are offering high end audio in the V20 and it has stood against all other flagships and won in the audio quality battle, taking it away from the G6 is like a smack in the face. Just because wireless charging and waterproofing is another trend followed by a different crowd, the fact remains.... anyone is going to prefer to have the better specs all in one place and not across multiple phones. Buying 2 flagships is ridiculous just to utilize the best of both worlds but that's how it would have to be to get the best of LG

But, Samsung pretty much has a differint approach in that full featured flagships with much sought after specs was possible even back when the S6/edge. ALthough not officially water resistant/waterproof, testing showed the S6/edge by Samsung did in fact tolerate water enough to convince some people that it had the guts to handle water. But it was a more certain capability when the S7 was released and now the S8 is sure to vbe imporved. It appears Samsung is at least 2 levels or more ahead of the competition when it comes to the latest and greatest specs. LG had quad-dac that gave them a superior edge over all other phones. Audio is more important to people than some may think. That could have been what gave LG a better edge against the S8 but now it is not much different than a Pixel. its waterproof, but it's still not sporting some of the advantages only a Google phone has. And most people would trade some their phone's bells for another phone's whistles. But with a Samsung flagship on the horizon, they probably won't have to.. They are quite adept at meeting the demanding trends. Offering a fully loaded powerhouse. That's what's going to probably happen. I still have my dislikes with Samsung - knox/bootloader locking, reception lacks when compared to even the cheapest models from other brands, their bloat.... With some tweaking and prayers, there will be a way to get around some of those things. Unlocking the bootloader will be on the top of some people's list. it's a real challenge these days. Phone's getting smarter and Android improving, perhaps the day will come when there will be a perfect piece of hardware running a well defined and perfectly tuned version of Android that everyone will want.

Re: What do YOU want to see in our Galaxy S8 forums?

For me, I would like for the Snapdragon 835 to finally have a good DAC intergrated in it. The Exynos always has a great DAC. It is time for the 835 to follow suit. This is where good music playback starts and was such a disappointment on the S7/S7E with the Snapdragon 820 SoC.

At this point I'm really hoping it has an app drawer, but if it doesn't I guess I'll just keep using Nova.

Dual camera, waterproof, 6GB+ RAM, Contiuum-like experience, Iris Scanner, Amazing battery life and Shatterproof display!

I suggest Android fans fall in love with their quick chargers. Not a good year for flagship device batteries not named Huawei.
