What happend to the radio players on froyo?

I listen to Pandora all the time in the car and at work through my phone. Now with froyo on my phone Pandora sounds like crap and the dev says its froyo ands to wait for anouther android update to fix the problem. I have tried other radio apps but I can't find any app that will last all day like Pandora. Slacker is the closest one but that app has quality issues as well. I can't use a radio app that streams because it kills my battery way too quick. The only thing I can't think of to fix this is some kind of hybrid froyo or going back to 2.1. Any suggestions?

Have you made any changes within the preferences of Pandora's menu under "Cell Network Audio Quality?" If so, did it give you any improvement in playback quality? Are you streaming off of 3G or WiFi?

I have adjusted all the settings to the best Pandora offers. I connect mostly over 3G but I have tried wifi with no change to quality. The Pandora dev I talked to said that froyo has issues with AAC+ and cannot be fixed on there end. They said the only way to fix the problem is with anouther android update.

Known issue with 2.2, sorry. Nothing that can be done about it.

It's the Stagefright media player that's causing the crappy streaming quality. Google has a fix for it but who knows when everyone will get it. If you're rooted, you can follow the instructions at the link below. Quadrant scores will drop but that's about it. Most stations accessible via RadioTime aren't using AAC, so they would be unaffected by the issue.

Is radio time a streaming radio? I am trying to stay away from the streaming radio because I listen to it for so long during the day that it will drain my battery to quick.
