What happened to Gear S3 and connection with Note 8

I got the gear S3 for Christmas this weekend early gift. I connected it to my Note 8 follow the steps and everything allowed notifications of all my apps to show up on my watch. But for some reason I can't get a single notification to come to buy Watch it's like it doesn't communicate with the phone.

Whenever I get texts Facebook notifications anything nothing pops up on the watch is there a connection issue with this damn thing do I need to take it back or is there a systemic problem going on with this latest update of some kind.

I have the N8 and I am not experiencing the same issues. I know it may be a stupid question but do you have bluetooth toggled on and did you toggle your phone app notifications you want pushed to your watch within the Samsung gear app on your phone? Go settings> notifications> toggle on and > manage notifications. Within manage notifications you should be able to toggle notifications off or on for the apps located on your phone.

Also check settings>device and scroll down to see your Do Not Disturb is off.

Is your phone locked or unlocked when you receive the notification? The default is that if your phone is unlocked the notifications will not go to the S3. You can change that setting so that they always come to your S3 regardless of phone state.

My N8 and Gear S3 Frontier work great together. They both have the latest updates.

I'm sorry you're having a problem. I have the S3 Frontier and on Sat. (12/30) I went from a Note 5 to an S8 Active with no problems getting notifications. I'm with AT&T. I wish I could help you out.

Everything seems to be working fine now I got an update about a week ago that turned mine into the Tizen 3.0 also mine is the Bluetooth model.

Mine doesn't work at all either (Gear S3, Pixel 2 XL, Oreo 8.1.0, Tizen 3.0). I've tried everything (phone settings, Gear Plug-in setting, clearing cache, resetting the phone, etc.). Zilch. It's pretty worthless right now without ANY notifications at all. Might as well go back to my Citizen, t least I don't need to flick my wrist to check the time.

This is the thread for issues with the Note 8. Did you mean to post in here? Other than that, sounds like everything you've tried has been phone-related. Have you tried anything with the watch?
