what happened to my contacts?

my son took my sim card out of my G3 and put his G5 card in, the phone didn't work and he put my sim card back in my phone. my contacts disappeared. what happened?

Welcome to Android Central! Did you have your contacts stored on your SIM card, or in your Google account? I strongly recommend saving your contacts to your Google account, since you'll always have it available on the web if your phone fails.

Open your People/Contacts app, tap Menu, and tap Import. See if there is an "Import from SIM Card" option.
