What happned to my Samsung Galaxy S3 mini power button?

samsung galaxy s3 mini power problems

I let my battery drain then recharged it. The charging screen showed up but when i try to press the power botton nothing happens. Pls help me. The battery is not drained. The powerbotton just wont work. I mean it worked properly before it was drained

Note that it's generally not a good idea to let the battery discharge completely.
