I'm in the exact same boat that you guys were in. I got the Dinc about a month after launch. I do love the phone, in particular after doing a factory reset. Before that I was having freezing and battery issues. Once I did the factory reset I can get 70%-90% of the day with frequent usage if I don't have the GPS on. That also got rid of all the legacy apps and various other downloads/poor choices.

That said, I feel compelled to get a new phone now because, A.) Though I love the Incredible, it's small and weakly powered. B.) We just renewed our contract with my wife's Stratosphere the week before Christmas, and I feel like if I want too long it's just prolonging the date at which I can get out from under my contract. I don't want to wait four months, because that's another four months before I can switch contracts. I'm already in for another two years with my wife's upgrade. C.) I'm a gadget guy, and it's time for a new gadget.

What I don't know is... Do I upgrade to the Nexus or to the Bionic? Both are very expensive. Leo Laporte smashed the Nexus in his review, and I'm apt to believe his reviews. Anyone have the Nexus?

I wouldn't get either...personally I'd go for the Rezound. Thats my plan after the new year starts.

Still running the DInc with a 3500 battery and no issues here. It has been a rock solid performer and I have yet to see any other phone that could temp me away. We've been so impressed with it that we've done some research and just set up the wife with the Incredible 2. It has turned out to be a solid performer for her as well.

I still have my DInc. Honestly, I love this phone. I've thought about getting another phone, but I've realized that it isn't necessary. Unless I want a new phone for the sake of wanting a new phone. My wife had a DInc too, but she got a new DInc2 after the GB update messed it up. The DInc2 has some of my must haves in a new phone. 4" screen and front facing camera. But after using it briefly, I realized that its just a phone and doesn't do anything substantially better than my DInc. It really comes down to the apps and the DInc can run all the apps that I've tried to install.

I'm going to keep my DInc until it breaks and they have to replace it with something different. Good luck on your new smartphone experience.

Got the Nexus on release day. Would not consider the Rezound after the lack of support by HTC on the Incredible and the terrible battery life. So far am very pleased with the Nexus. I am old enough to need reading glasses and the touch icons on the bottom of the Dinc were next to impossible to see unless I was in low light and they came on. Rezound the same only with red icons making them harder to see. No brainer for me.

Some have complained of the feel of the Nexus but after the Incredible it feels like a tank.

I did the pre order on the Dinc and have had it since launch. While I loved the phone, I could not live with the battery and the charging issue it has. For over a year now I had been charging spare batteries and swapping out each day (3500mah). That 3500mah battery would barely last me thru the night at work. With heavy use I would have to do a quick charge at some point thru the night. That combined with a weak signal prompted me to try something else.

I had originally had my wife on a Samsung Fascinate but do to its glitchy software I got her an iPhone 4 a few months ago. Well she decided she wanted to go to the Fascinate again (running much better after the factory GB update!) so I decided to try out the iPhone 4 for a bit. My DInc is rooted and running CM7 and I love it but ready for something different.

Just did the jailbreak on the iphone 4 (5.0.1) and am playing with that, but there are times I miss the DInc. I still have it and can go back anytime if I get bored with the iphone.

There are ZERO android phones out there I would buy. I was intrigued by the Nexus, but it seems to have problems. One good thing (so far) about the iphone 4 is that it simply works. Only reason I jailbroke it (same for rooting my Dinc) was for the free wifi tethering. Rarely use it but when I need it it is there

So for now the iphone 4 is my new toy, but the Dinc is still here and I keep it charged. Time will tell what I end up with.

As to point One 4.7" inches is smaller than the wildly popular 5.3" Samsung Note which shipped a Million units in two short months....so while it may be too big for you (personal preference).....I look forward to it.

2 UMMM....OF COURSE it translates to better performance and with Video growing at a very fast pace on the Net, Both the extra screen real estate and the Power of Quad will be required going forward. There will be ever developing Apps that will allow your phone to do more....with more power as well. The Quad chipset also makes the phone more "future proof". This will be the first Hardware set that is specifically tailored (optimized) to ICS....the Nexus notwithstanding, which has 4.0 Software ...on a 3.5 phone.

I have no allegiance to Verizon and would likely move to Sprint for this phone....or one similar....but then it wouldn't be a Dinc 3 of course.

And while the Render of the phone does indeed show buttons....it's a safe bet they'll be gone by production as this has been positively announced as an ICS phone. We will also see the "Zeta" (Quad) and the "Ville" (dual core) at MWC. Looking forward to the Next Generation....D

Been rocking the Incredible since launch and I'm in no hurry to upgrade. The only things I'm looking for in my next phone are 4G, 4" screen and front facing camera. Both the Thunderbolt and Bionic fulfill these requirements. Honestly, I really don't want to renew a contract with VZW right now. I'm having a hard time accepting that they will GIVE you a $300 phone if you are a new customer, but for an 18 year customer, they could care less and want to charge you full price.

Ok, sorry. Didn't mean to get off topic. I'm still on the Incredible and plan to stay with it until it breaks.

Well, I just got off the phone with VZW. I got such a good deal on a Bionic I couldn't say no. Not sure yet if the wife's gets the Inc (if she wants it) or if it becomes an MP3 player.

I bought a used droid bionic on ebay for $170. This thing is in pristine condition. I could not tell it was ever used. I sold my dinc for $90 a little low but if you do the math I just have $80 on a like new bionic without a contract extension. I am still eligible for an upgrade in August.
I like the bionic way better than the dinc in almost every way but one. The screen is not as good as the dinc. You can tell it is pentile. Not as good, however, does not translate to sucks dirt. The bionic still has a good screen that I am happy with. I like the larger screen and you can see the screen in bright sunlight easily. With the latest update for the bionic its camera is way better than the dinc. It is a lot faster and the camera app is more user friendly.
Here is the best thing about the bionic. You know on the dinc all of those out of memory messages. That is because of the data/data folder is only 150 megs. This is where some apps store their data. My dinc was rooted mostly so I can micro manage this folder. The Bionic data/data folder is 3.2 gigs. That is 21 times bigger!!!!!!!! I have all Audubon guides loaded on the phone plus SkySafari Pro with tons more space. I could never do that with my dinc.
I like motoblur far, far better than sense. Sense is too heavy and not as well thought out in my opinion. Motoblur is close to ASOP but it is prettier. With the dialer for on the dinc you had to push menu to get to the contacts. On motoblur dialer is like cm7 dialer but more visually appealing. The contact is a tab at the top along with recent calls.

$80 total I am happy with my bionic and am not sorry I got rid of the dinc. I did like the dinc but it is a little dated.

My update just popped, but i'm going to stay with the DInc for the moment. I really wanted a GNex, but i'm going to wait for some of the bugs to work out.

The DINC is my first real experience with an Android phone that was capable of handling Android smoothly. I've only had it for a couple weeks, but I pretty much love it.

I miss not having a physical keyboard, since my fat fingers make a virtual keyboard tough to use accurately...but I'm slowly getting used to it. My main gripes are the camera (not all that good sometimes) and the small(ish) screen.
I would also like to have a front facing camera.

I'm finally off-contract with Verizon, so getting a good price through them is impossible...but I'm not against eBay and Craigslist.

Any suggestions for a phone that has an SD slot, isn't a pain in the ass to root, has a 4"+ screen, and a front-facing camera?

Also, it has to have a good camera, with the ability to take quick shots...my kids don't like to stand around and wait for the pictures lol.

Haven't moved on yet. Was almost going to pull the trigger on the Galaxy Nexus, but waaaay too many inconsistent user experiences for my tastes. Also not entirely sold on the Rezound, so for now, I'm just sitting on my Incredible.

Dinc was also my first Android device and I got it on launch day... It was a severe personal conflict as to whether or not to get the GNex when it launched as I love the Incredible... I finally pulled the trigger because I just wanted a Nexus device...

I'm happy I got the GNex, but I still miss using my Incredible at times...
