What if we do not have android phone can we still use the smart watch?

I am planning to buy smart watch but I do not have android phone.can I still use the smart watch using wifi even if I do not have android phone??please advise

Welcome to Android Central! It depends on what kind of smartwatch. Android Wear and Samsung smartwatches work best when paired with a phone. Smartwatches that are essentially mini-phones on a strap (usually direct from China) typically require their own SIM card, and therefore can be standalone.
