What is a community ROM?

I'm hearing about this "community" ROM that Adrynalyne is supposedly putting together... what exactly is that? And what would classify it as a "community" rom? I just want to know. It sounds pretty cool from what I've heard/read.

Oh cool, I thought it was a ROM that was meant for the Forums. Like, a ROM that we all use and build off of or something. Kinda like stock, but better.

i am here for the long haul and if Adrynalyne says get new 2.2 OTA to use new fix ..ok... but if not i will be here and i wont be jumping ship.

so far i have not seen anything thats impressive enough for me to change from my SC EB01 DXC_ VooDoo.. so i am android central staple..

now wheres desert.. lol...

Well once its out, I will definitely flash it. If it's based from the ED01 build, then it should definitely be worth keeping for a long time.
