That's what I'm using and it works great. Charges quickly too. The only issue is that it doesn't have an LED notification to show you it's working. But for some that may be a good thing.

I bought the same one (in white) on ebay for $11.99 and free shipping. SPEEDY shipping at that!

I'm using the cable that came with it. Where I can buy a 3.0 cable like the one that came with the tablet? Just the cable, not the wall plug.

Anker makes good stuff

I just bought a 3.0 usb cable on amazon for 8 bucks. I would rather use that than the micro usb chargers....
I will use it with the new anker charger.

Shouldn't matter power and ground are only in the micro usb side of the port the other side only has transmit and receive data

Does the charger really matter as long as it can supply enough current? Isn't charging internally regulated by the GS5?

I'm not sure if I am interpreting this info correctly, but my Anker PowerIQ Rapid Car Charger, HimBox charger that came with my bluetooth car kit and OEM Samsung wall charger all measured the same current using the Galaxy Charging Current App. It read 1800ma Max and 1200ma Average. The two car charges state they are 5v and the OEM wall charger says it is 5.3v. So the wall charger out to be slightly faster than the two car chargers, which should be equally as fast. If so, I'm not sure if I'm going to keep or return the Anker.

I've been using the same car charger for 5 years. It's not a generic brand, but it's not a commonly known name like Belkin either. Name isn't on the charger so I forget what it is, but I see it in Wal Mart or Best Buy all the time. Think I paid $10-15 for it and never had a problem with it. Oh, and it's a car charger/wall charger with prongs that fold in and out. It's also got 2 USB ports for multiple devices.

Been through 2 iPhones and 1 yr into my S5 with it and not a single problem.

Smartphones are smart enough to self regulate during their charging cycle so you don't have to worry about them killing your battery.

Go cheap, but not generic cheap. $30 for a charger is lol worthy.
