What is a good Non OEM Battery for the S5?

Re: Non OEM Battery for S5

I will soon be upgrading to a Verizon S5. I noticed on eBay that there are replacement batteries with capacities between 3800 to 4300 which state they fit in the existing S5 cover. It sounds too good to be true. Does anyone have any experience with these higher capacity batteries?

I would never trust any non-OEM battery found on eBay. A number of DSLR makers introduced firmware to stop the camera from turning on when one is detected since these cheaply made batteries will most likely and many times would overheat causing damage to the camera so I suspect the same could happen to phones. They have poor voltage regulation as well as poor quality thermal cutout switching..

If you are going to get a good quality phone, use the original OEM battery(s)

Re: Non OEM Battery for S5

Hiya.. Just seen this post and I'm having a bad battery drain as well.. At night i always switch off my data and I don't use wifi at the moment so it is just the data I switch off.. I usually loose about 8- 15 percent of battery and nothing is on, the screen is off..
When I use my phone just for normal browsing or just doing something like editing a picture my phone goes down really quickly.. Like I unplug it and it was 100 percent battery at 1731 pm, after a few browsing and designing a pic it went down to 47 percent by 7. 45pm so is this normal for this to go down this quick.. I'm finding I don't like to use my phone much as I know it goes down quick
Sorry for the long post 😊
Thanks in advance for any opinions

Re: Non OEM Battery for S5

When I started this posting I did not yet have my S5. I now have my S5 and the battery life is great. If I lightly use the phone the battery could be at 75% after 15 hours. So if you are having battery issues I suggest that you look at the battery usage and see what is the big hog. You might have a S5 that is not functioning properly and lastly you might try using Battery Doctor

I forgot to say I've got the Samsung S4.. But I hope I haven't posted in the wrong post..
The big hog seems to be the Screen as that's the one at the top

Screen is usually a big eater, you might try adjusting the brightness of the screen and also adjusting the screen timeout time (mine is 15 seconds).

If you have not had this same problem from the beginning you might also consider that you battery is bad.

Yeah I have changed the brightness now.. And the screen timeout was on 1 minute so changed that to 15 secs, but when I first got the phone it lasted longer than this.. So yeah might need to get a new battery for it..
Thanks neil154 :)

What option would I choose to make that macro? I really only care about the texts, Facebook and other notifications can wait until I feel like checking them. Thanks in advance! (=

You would have to use the Date/Time trigger and get fancy with rerunning the same macro over and over.

ie, setup a macro to sense the '00' minute and have it run the macro named RADIOS ON

setup another macro to sense 'xx' minute and have it run the macro named RADIOS OFF

you can also use the "Constraints" to setup a "start time" and "end time"

To make MacroDroid useful, you must experiment with it and try out all of the options to find out how they can benefit you.
