What is happening to my new tablet?

what is happening to my new tablet..help me im a total newbie!

my son has a tablet, havnt even had it for a month, i downoladed some apps successfully, but the last one, was taking a while, then i decided to get rid of it..but couldnt..it hadnt finished downloading but i could not do anything to it., even view it. thern when i clicked on play store that kept saying it could not open. now alot of the other apps have disappeard. could this be a virus...i did do a reset and wipe evrything, but when i try and put the avg antivirus on it says its already installed, but its not. please help me find a solution!

What was the last app?
Is the tablet new or second hand?

the tablet is not a big name tablet..
the last app was lego, my city
its a new tablet

You get what you pay for really. Ignore AVG. Its not needed.
Go into settings/apps/all and uninstall it and any other crap.
