What is my actual Mbps?

To download a 100 MB file from 1 server, it takes 100 seconds. Is this fast and how do I calculate the Mbps?

(I am on a 100 Mbps connection)

That was an 8mb/s download - pretty fast for these days (the internet seldom runs more than 3mbps - it does increase all the time, though, but very slowly).

It doesn't matter what your connection speed is - that's the speed between your provider and you. They have no control over how fast the file comes from the server. But if you downloaded 12 files from that server (to 12 different devices), each one would have been getting an 8mb/s download, which would have been 96mb/s total. (The connection "speed" is actually the bandwidth of the connection. The speed is, first of all, between you and the server you're connected to, so it can vary all over the place, and even be different from the same server at different times. (Christmas morning, the whole internet slows down, as everyone puts their new toys on line.) And it's only as fast as the slowest part of the link between the server and your device. But with a 100mbps connection, a few people can be playing games that require high speed and a few people can be downloading files, all at the same time. With a 20mb/s connection and an 8mb/s download speed, the most you could do is 2 downloads and maybe 1 game at the same time.)
