Thanks for the link. I went there and found all I needed to know about this resource hog. I do not need it on my phone, and am disabling it. Thanks again!
New Bay Service is associated with backup assistant plus. I called VZW service and spoke with tech and a fairly knowledgeable guy tried to help me stop it from constantly trying to update nothing.
Noticed I used over 2GB of data in 3 days!!!!!. Saw that this new bay service used almost all of it. Was running in background. So I had to restrict background data on it. Don't know what it is for??? Or how I got it on my phone

From any Home screen, press the Menu button, choose Settings, scroll down to the Accounts section and you'll find Backup Assistant Plus. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a simple "Turn Off" checkbox, so just uncheck all of the boxes for stuff that you don't want it to backup.
Or, do a Factory Reset and skip those questions

Brent,
Perhaps you work better with pictures than with the text solution provided in post #12:Sent from my rooted, debloated, deodexed Sinclair ZX-80 running CM -0.001 using Tapatalk 2
Hi everyone I went into settings》 data usage and restricted the background service now idk if it'll help but gotta try something it's crazy how much data it uses samsung galaxy s3
No that link is dead now, which is curious. So I've got Backup Asst Plus backing up only my contacts and am still afraid of going over my data limit. Where the 57@@!! did this new bay service come from??? I know my phone worked just fine without it. Too bad that the link was smothered.
