Rooted Optimus s with xonia custom recovery , As far as nand back ups what back ups are safe to delete also do you really need titatuim back up to back up apps. And do you always have to do a nand back up every time you flash a rom

Titanium is good when flashing a new rom.

Nandroid is good when you need to completely restore the phone to its previous working state. I usually keep one backup in the clockworkmod folder. The rest just take up too much space for me. Others may feel differently.

So, yes, both are recommended. Needed? No. Convenient? Definitely!

Like bakethis said they're 2 different things. A restore will COMPLETELY restore the phone to how it was when you did backup no titanium backup needed but you will have to update any app that had a market update since backup date. Titanium wool restore apps after flashing a new rom

I say both are necessary when flashing roms

An Nandroid backup is good to restore your phone to working order if something goes wrong. it will restore to its original state that you backed it up on. It saved me once when i flashed a bad file.

TI backup is for restoring apps after you flash a new rom which is very useful since it can save your user data (angry bird levels, settings, etc)

As for space, I just recently went into my clockwork folder on my SD card and i had 5 backups total, which i deleted 3 of them saving me over 1.5gb on my sd card!
