What is the average screen size phones should be based on

Going from a 3.2 inch screen from the LG optimus one (phoenix) to the 4.7 HTC one. Hand gymnastics is something I had to get used to for the one. Which isn't a huge problem. I think the best screen size that should be the average is the 4.5-.7 range, but since 5+ inches seem to be the trend, I might eventually have to try out the "mini" variant of a phone. Any thoughts?

I love big screens. I think the minimum could easily be 4.5" and I don't think we need anything bigger than the 6.3" that the Mega offers.

The 6.4 inch Sony Xperia Ultra I thought was pushing it pretty much into television territory phone wise. If that makes any sense

Ha! Some people are really concerned about one-handed use. I'm lucky that I have two hands! Joke...that was a joke. The bigger phones are especially nice if you don't have a separate tablet. If you do, than I think a smaller phone can fit the bill. Having said that, I could easily live with the Note 3 for any occasion me thinks.
