Try using the power and home buttons. That's the key combination for screenshots on the SGSIII and Note II.

Use the side of your hand/palm, swipe right to left (I'm not sure if direction matters, but it works going right to left).

Stick to the Power & Home key, much easier and quicker than the Gesture which can be a PITA it took a few attempts.

Make sure you have it enabled. It's really not difficult at all

yeah the power and home button more effective way because the gesture never worked for me either
