what is the difference between the droid 2 keyboard and the droid 2 global keyboard? (can someone post some pics to the droid 2 global keyboard that show a difference)?

There have been some people who have stated that the keyboards are different. I saw them both at the store and I didn't see the difference.

In every picture I've seen they look identical, raised bumps, spacing, and all. Some say that the feel is different but I personally am skeptical. I'll need to try one once they are available at BestBuy (starting 11/29), but I haven't seen anything from Motorola that says it's improved over the D2. Everything I've read is identical to the literature about the D2 which basically states the keyboard is improved over the *D1*. But we'll see, eventually more will chime in here. I've said it before though and I'll say it again... I don't see what is wrong with the D2 keyboard. I love it! The only thing I need to do is buy UltraKeyboard because the lack of spelling correction is ticking me off. :-/

That's the exact setup I have! Ultra keyboard's auto-correct works beautifully with the physical keyboard. I wouldn't be able to type as fast as I do without it. What are you waiting for?

i agree the D2 keyboard is probably one of the best keyboards i've used. i'm not a fan of rigid plastic buttons like HTC uses. so Motorola's soft rubber keys are perfect.

The Droid2Global keyboard does seem a little improved. The buttons seem a little higher raised and the alt keys are a little bigger.

Also (I have not played with the Droid2 software a lot) but the Droid 2 Global has spell check for the physical keyboard. Something that I love over the original Droid.

Spell check is a really good addition.

One thing about Ultrakeyboard that has me let down is no speech input icon when you disable the toolbar. The toolbar takes up too much space so I leave it off but like the speech input (mic) icon on the built in virtual keyboard for when I'm one handed and need to enter some text.

Scratch that on my last post. I realized I can long press the ?123 button to get the menu that has the speech input icon.

does the droid 2 physical keyboard not have spell check?

Nope. The D2 physical keyboard only corrects a tiny amount of basics like adding apostrophes. If you type "correctiom" it won't fix it like the multitouch will. And even the multitouch correction sucks. UltraKeyboard is far far superior but also has it's own quirks.

i don't know about you but when the multi-touch (maybe more) keyboard is selected i have spell check enabled. if you don't check your device keyboard settings.

Let's see its the same spell correct that the multitouch keyboard uses which is the same as the defualt android keyboard. Works well enough for me giving options but I rarely use the physical keyboard anyway, im faster with the software keyboards

The physical keyboard does NOT use the same spelling correction as the multitouch keyboard even with all options properly enabled. This is a known issue and is one many complain about. It's easy to test with the word I mentioned.

It does on the D2G. Maybe not on the D2

It may not have correction but I get prediction just like the software keyboard

Does Ultra Keyboard do autocorrection the way the BlackBerry does, where you can set a word to be automatically corrected: ie type u and have it change it to you?
