Galaxy S6 Active screen durability

I am a farmer and long time user of the Samsung Rugby smartphone and have always appreciated the toughness of the glass. In fact I have never used a protector of any sort except a NiteIze holster. The only reason I have just upgraded to the S6 Active is the keyboard stopped responding. So I am wondering if I can trust the glass to be as tough on the S6 Active as it was on the Rugby and can't seem to find this description anywhere on the type of material used. Not just the visibility description. It's such a ridiculously bulking phone that a case would almost make it a laptop especially for those of us who work physically on our feet all day. Thanks

Well it's Gorilla g4 on it. Personally I have a inexpensive glass screen protector on mine. Why chance it since all screens can crack and I would rather have the inexpensive glass screen protector take the hit and shatter than the digitizer.

Re: Galaxy S6 Active screen durability

There are several posts here, and over at Android central about people dropping their phone and cracking the screen. Neither AT&T nor Samsung seem to be honoring the drop rating implied by the AT&T marketing specs. I put a tempered glass protector on the screen. AoN

Did not think the Active screen was marketed as anything stronger than the standard S6? The only difference that I remember was that the bezels had a slight raised edge to add some protection.

Re: Galaxy S6 Active screen durability

Obviously the screen is going to be the weakest point on any phone. Along with the leather wallet style case I bought I put a glass screen protector on mine also, never hurts to be safe.
