what is the icon at the top of my Droid Turbe that looks like the "no" sign?

my alarm clocks will not sound; and my phone will not ring. i think it has to do with this setting. what is it??

Could you post a screenshot of that icon?

It means your phone is set to "no interruptions" mode, which means it won't make any sounds, not even an alarm.

To change this, press the up or down volume button and then tap "All".

For more detailed settings go into Settings > Sound & notification > Interruptions.

(this stuff is all new with Android 5.x, which includes much more detailed/confusing controls for notifications etc.)
