What is this circle beside contact name??

I started noticing this a couple days ago. My husbands contact (only in the messages screen) has a black circle with a white outline by his picture. I have attached a picture of it.

I dont know what it is and it's kind of bugging me. I dont have this circle by any other contact or message.

Any help?

Welcome to the forums. Does your husband use a Note as well? Maybe that dot means that you can share 'Live Messages' with him.

That looks like some chat bot in message to know when on-line.
Which carrier you on?

Its a samsung RCS service i presume. Shows when theyre available on their phone and so on.
