what is this for?

Hello all.
Just for sheer curiosity, on the side where the power button is, the gnex has three golden dots about a third from the bottom up.
It looks like a connection of some sorts. Anyone knows what are they for?

That's for connecting/charging in a dock.

They're called "pogo pins". They are used for charging and audio playback in wireless docks.

No, this is incorrect. They are only used for docking, charging, and audio.
