What is this new notification icon that looks like an ear just appeared?

New Notification Icon that looks like an ear just appeared

I just noticed a new Icon on the top right notification bar, it looks like a ear with sound or radio waves coming out of it. I tried searching on the phone for new services or apps and could not find any with this icon. I am using a HTC One m8 running 4.4.2 Android. Any info will be great.

Sounds like it could be the GPS icon.

Welcome to Android Central! It sounds like the TTY/hearing aid icon. Open your Dialer, tap menu, then Settings>Call Settings, and turn off TTY. If that doesn't do anything, check your Settings>Accessibility​ menu and see if anything there is turned on.

Is it the Boom Sound notification? It will show anytime you play something through the phone speakers, or if listening via headphones with it turned on add well.

In settings the Hearing Aid optimization button was checked. Thank you for your help I never would have looked there.
