I have an icon in my notifications that I have no idea what it means. Can anyone help me out and what do I need to do to get rid of it? I know one us the power saver then the ramp but what does the other mean with a back slash between 2 opposing arrows?

That is the symbol for being connected to your PC via USB in MTP mode (file transfer mode). Should go away if you unplug USB... If you can get rid of it while connected, I have not seen how yet. Icon removal on the status bar is one of the top reasons people load custom ROMs on their phones. Like that NFC icon you have... there is NO reason for that to be up there all the time. Let it be on, but don't take up my screen real estate :).

What is OTA? Sorry guys I am new to this android phone and don't know much terminology.
Thanks

Ota = over the air. It means they update the software through Wi-Fi instead of having to plug your phone into a computer, download the software update, and sideload it on your phone. It's a good thing.

Make sure you are in Wi-Fi and maybe restart your phone a couple times. Could also check for updates under settings - software update (it's usually the second to last option right above about)

It is? Lol. They reuse it! I was wondering why the USB connection stuff wasn't up there too like mine needs to be to see that symbol.

It's apparently a dual purpose icon.
