battery life is excellent:

LTE Off
All bloatwares disabled/removed
All Samsung Gimmicks off but I use the weather widget on the main screen
Screen set @ 50% all the time
Energy Saver OFF
GPS was on for an hour while driving

And yes I browsed the web/email/play games/used Google + and Play music with Power Amp.

I use Greenify , it helps a lot IMO.

just took a look at the battery report and my S4 is running at 14 1/2 hours off battery with just under 3 1/2 hrs on screen with 51% remaining! It isn't unusual for this phone to run 24 hrs plus when I need it with plenty in reserve. I usually plug it in at 17-18 hrs with 40% left in the tank! Now every once in a while I used to see the battery fall off unexpectedly, this seems to be the result of backround sincing and backround processes sucking down the battery! Once i went in and either froze these unwanted apps or limited the backround sincing on the apps I actually use, the battery life is in my opinion, excellent!
My setup: Google Now-on, K-9 Mail sincing 3 mail accounts, Wifi-on , GPS-on, Bluetooth-on, Smart Stay, Air View, Air gesture, all on, Flipboard, Accu Weather-manual sinc, Drop Box, set to sinc on wifi/on charger and Nova Launcher
S-voice, disabled, Wi-Fi Now, disabled
Display set to approx. 50%

Cheers

Let's see some proof because those are some crazy numbers. Great for you if that's what you're getting out of it.

Just got the s4 and I conditioned it. Lasted me some good hours until recently. I have been struggling to get 13 hours of battery. I have spent around 3 hours on screen some with lte some with wifi but mostly wifi by a large margin. Yesterday I went out on a walk and I have cell wifi on switching between lte and 4g, playing spotify. My phone completely tanked in battery for a 45 minute trip with my phone just playing music while in my pocket. The phone overheated a crap ton like while on my walk I felt it through the case and pants. It usually overheats after use when I charge it though. What do I do? I feel like there is no point in the samsung s4 because you have to turn off all the cool features just to get battery!

I am highly inclined to agree. Another question to all who have an S4: Do you have Auto Brightness on? That feature is nice, but a battery killer. It frequently tests the ambient light and adjusts the screen brightness to accomodate.

The battery question is an interesting one, today is my second day with my GS4, I have auto brightness on and currently have 2.5 hours screen time with 13hrs and 15 minutes on the battery and I am still at 63%. Now I don't play games, but I do text and use the browsers a lot, especially now as I am getting used to the GS4 coming from the Rezound. I think so far its on par with my works Iphone 5 and my Rezound.

Battery usage is highly subjective. I get great battery life from my iPhone 5. It lasts me 24 hours between charges. Having said that, Anandtech did standardized testing on the S4 and the iPhone 5 lasted longer in 2 out of 3 tests:

Science also at one time said there was nothing smaller than an atom, the sound barrier could never be broken, and the gravity of Earth would prevent landing on the moon.
