What is wrong with my phone now?

If anyone has seen any of my topics, they know that my experience with the HTC One hasn't been perfect. I love the phone but I keep havign issues with my phone. Now, I have a problem where I can not access anything beyond accessing applications. For example, I can't open messaging apps but I can't click on threads to reply to. For apps where I am already on screens where I'm texting, I can't bring up a keyboard. When I tried resetting phone, I couldn't select restart because it just doesn't work. What can I do?

Edit: the back button doesn't work either. I have never gotten water into my phone or anything like that and I bought it new.

Ok so about 5 hours later, my phone is fully functional again. I have no idea how or why it started working again but it does. Anyone ever have this problem before? And just some more info, I was using my phone before it stopped working today.

It must be software issue so either you wait for official software update or go to HTC dev website unlock boot loader root your HTC one and flash revolution HD 4.2.2 custom ROM which is basically same HTC sense 5 without bloatware and great battery.
