What is your current phone?

Htc rezound

I used my sister's upgrade so she will have a free rezound and I only paid $200 for the GS3 instead of paying full retail so its a win/win

I also bought a broken Gnex for $200, fixed it ($20 part) then sold it for $300 on eBay. So I really only paid $120 for the GS3

Droid X.

Was thinking of keeping it as a backup to the S3. Unfortunately, it is a 3G phone and the S3 is 4G. I get the feeling that if I had to use the DX as a backup (S3 broke, etc) Verizon would use that as a excuse to kill my unlimited data. If that turned out to be the case then I might trade my DX in at Best Buy. At least that would be a few $$$ for S3 accessories.

Incredible. Never had a problem with it. May part with it VIA CL, or practice rooting Roms.

Motorola Droid - been waiting for an android phone that is solidly built like the original droid. The new droid phone feel so plastic and flimsy.
Yeah, you did a good job not upgrading to the Droid 4, wish I hadnt jumped the gun on it... def paying full price for my next phone (SGS3) and selling this :(

Greetings. 9930 here. I'm a refuge from the Crackberry site. :)
Welcome! I never joined Crackberry but I can say that the jump from my BB Tour to the Droid Pro (1st Android phone) was huge. I can only imagine how big a jump it would be from any BB to the SGS3 :p

Samsung Fascinate running AOKP ICS. Good when rooted and Rom'd but stock was terrible. I guess we'll see if that's how it is for the GS III

Razor Maxx and my gf gets all my hand me downs. Since I pay the bill, I get all the upgrades.

Strange thing I just realized: all her phones have been Droids. OG Droid, Samsung Droid Charge and now this one

I would hope that Verizon would not do this. But, I know that they have the new "Share Everything" plans to force people to get rid of unlimited data. So, I wouldn't put it past them to have some tricky terms in their agreement.

Might be worth asking or actually READING the agreement I guess. But really, unless they changed your old plan when you upgraded, I don't think this would happen.

Wow! I was surprised when I woke up and found 30 replies to my question.

It's interesting to see our heritage (ie previous phone). To the person with the BlackBerry, you are abandoning a sinking ship. Welcome aboard SS Android. Full steam ahead! You'll love it.

To the couple of people switching from iPhone, I'm curious what your reasons are.

My wife just upgraded last month from Droid Incredible to iPhone 4s. She has very mixed feelings about her experience so far.

She loves some things about the iPhone (screen quality, camera, smaller screen - she doesn't have man size pockets) and hates others (notifications not as good, lack of a good, free navigation app, Siri - something about another woman telling her what to do.)

I'd like to hear your reasons for leaving iPhone.

I'm coming from a Samsung Epic 4g (a Galaxy S variant). I loaded CyanogenMod9 onto it the other day and that has done a really good job making the phone fresh again, but I just can't stand Sprint as a network anymore.

My wife gets my RAZR Maxx and that frees up a DX she was using. I would like to turn the DX into a dedicated outdoors GPS. I use an app, backcountry navigator pro, which allows for offline map retrieval so I should be able to save map from the sg3 and load it onto the DX via the PC

Do you think this will work? I also want to remove a bunch of stuff to improve battery life

Bionic and after a few refurbished units this one has been great, battery life so so, but screen and all else fine for my use, Wife just got the rmaxx with the ICS really slick, I would have been happy with that, eagerly awaiting the SG3

I've never used that app but I would think you should be able to use wifi pre cache the maps. GPS works without cell service. So, there should be no need to involve the SGS3 to transfer the maps.

Palm Pixi

Haha Pixi brothers! I sold my GNEX and bought the $29 Pixi. It's so.... bad. It will tell me I have too many cards open when I have 1-2 open.

Feels incredibly cheap, too. But it's a nice spare phone to have.
