Opinion of a Geek

Why is the 820 paired with DDR3 RAM and not DDR4? Even the 810 has DDR4 support. 6 GB is ridiculous btw.

Nexus 8 is now shown to have 6 gb DDR4 ram
More indications of nexus z with 8gb ram and nexus 4 pro

Here is my dream specs and concept for the 2016 Moto X:
It would have a size choice in Moto Maker, like picking a T-shirt size.
It would have a similar design to the current Moto x Pure/Style with the aluminum frame but the back would be a LOT less curved to support larger batteries. The back and battery would be user removable and contain an sd card slot.
There would be the added option of Kevlar and carbon fiber backs.

The screen would be a return to AMOLED tech and would have an RGB sub-pixel arrangement.
It would be basically like a RGB version of the Note 5 display with better viewing angles, high ambient light performance and three calibration modes: True-to-Life, Super-Saturated and Custom.
Protecting the front of the screen would either be the shatter-proof tech from the Turbo 2 or a plastic shatterproof screen with a factory applied gorilla glass screen protector for scratches and dents and free life-time replacements of said screen protectors.
It would have stereo speakers with low profile grills similar to Xperia Z3+.

The software would be normal Moto UI with a theme engine to change looks and a software feature store where you could add software features (such as Moto voice or a multi-window feature.)
The camera app would have a regular mode which would mainly be a UI improvement over the current one and a pro mode with features and manual controls to rival even the LG G4.

Specs:

Sizes
XS:107.3 x 56.95 x 9.73 mm
S: 125.36 x 67.11 x 9.53 mm

M: 5.37" 1080p screen 410ppi ~80.08% ratio
L: 5.83" 1440p screen 504ppi ~81.51% ratio
XL: 6.32" 1440p screen 464ppi ~82.33% ratio

I know I'm in the minority when it come to really really big phone but here is my perfect dream phone spec.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra 2
- 6.4 inches screen (anything less won't cut it) (regret getting the Note 3 cause I never heard of the Ultra) (even the Mega 6.3 felt small for me and I still had a few cm left in my pocket for that mega phone)
- Quad dual front speaker and back speaker with Beat audio technology, Creative sound blaster, or any other good high quality audio card. (the Note 3 speaker suck and I had to often put on my earphone to hear what people were saying on Youtube) Loud and clear sound is a must, doesn't need to be audiophile quality.
- Waterproof - phone can be thicker with thicker membrane if it mean I can get Quad dual front and back speaker.
- Scratch/dust/dent resistant and so durable that you don't need a case if drop.
- 3500 + Mah battery
- 128 build in storage capacity. (don't need SD card slot if this is the case) (SD card slot don't work with game apps unless root)
- Snapdragon 805 or higher and Adreno 330 or higher gpx and processor
- Removable battery
- Full metal (aluminum or any type of metal) - carbon fiber prefer :D
- 20 Mega pixel camera or higher but 20 is enough with image optimization stabler and flash. Front camera is 4 mpx or higher.
- 4K recording (like the note 3)
- 1080p resolution or higher ( I don't know what those high resolution in the Note 4 (quad HD) look like so I don't know yet)
- Physical camera button
- Forward button
- Duel screen (like that of the Note 3)
- S-pen included but work more like the Ultra than the Note 3 where anything metal would work as an s-pen. However only the included S-pen has
s-pen functionality (like the Note 3)
- Non mobile web browser
- Flash media, java, quicktime included so I can watch Southpark and The Simpsons
- usb 4.0

What your?

I have another opinion, I want to see my future phone compact and flexible like a bank plastic. I want possibility to transfer files between mobile devices or mobile device and PC in drag and drop way

-5.8-6.4 screen size
-x64 archetexture(so intel/amd) would allow it to play pc games
-12nm process
-gpu at least as good as a gtx 920 (would be pretty hard to fit anything more powerful without some major tiny archetexture)
-really thick
-built like a tank(think moto x force or lg v10)
-decent camera
-runs android and windows(like macs can run all 3 major operating systems for pcs) and can switch between them
-1080p screen (helps take strain off gpu)
-don't mind bezels
-pretty big battery
-no preloaded crap
-at least 4 gbs of ram, the 810 already has support for 6 gigs of lpddr4, so...

I think Google could really pull off making ARA a viable commercial product taking HTC's example on how they promoted the very first Android phone. Trim the fat, tell us the basics, show how you can tap an icon to activate/deactivate a module. It wouldn't hurt ARA if they started off with a simpler module layout either.

Excuse the double post but this has nothing to do with what I've said before:

I think Alcatel should develop an Android Wear smartwatch that can be converted to a "basic-phone", think ASUS Transformer but giving you a conventional look and feel of a basic NOKIA with all the perks of a smartphone. It will also have an integrated SIM card and CDMA antennae.

That would be my primary device, and I could choose to either wear it like a watch or turn it into a classic handset.
