What is your preferred screen size?

Which Bold did you have? I had the 9000 and the 9700.

I had the Nokia E61 and the E71 prior to those 2 BlackBerry devices.

Had the Verizon version 9650
Also had an E71 , another sweet device. Nokia was the king back then. Guess they maybe got a little cocky and didn't see the future to well.

Well mobile phones are available in different screen sizes but everyone prefers a specific screen size of which he/she has become habitual of using. With the growing technologies, screen sizes and their resolutions are also growing. I prefer screen size of 4.5"-5". It is an ideal screen size, neither too small nor too large. This size becomes handy easily and also easy to carry in pocket. Sizes larger than this are difficult to use and to carry.

Yeah the Bold was a sweet device, loved mine. Back then it seemed every new phone brought something new and exciting. These days not so much. I'd upgrade bout 4 times a year and was constantly buying and selling. Couldn't ever seem to get enough and always wanted something new. I recall paying $1059 for a Nokia E90 Communicator. I just wanted it before anyone else could get it. Was insane in 2007 to pay that. heck, I wouldn't pay that today for any phone. crazy stuff. Fun times tho. HoFo was the place to be for phone forums and trading info back then.

Absolutely! Each new phone truly brought something new and invigorating to the table. Now I feel like upgrading isn't always that much of a necessity if you have last year's flagship (ie, Pixel 2 vs the upcoming Pixel 3). How did you like the Communicator?!

16:9 I like around pixel size. 5-5.2 inches. 18:9 I really liked the size of my s8 and huawei mate 10pro so I guess 5.8-6 inches.

The communicator was a one of a kind device and solid Nokia all the way. Built like a tank with an awesome keyboard and dual speakers inside that worked when open. I liked it alot. Was like a mini laptop before mini laptops were a thing. Regular price was $700 which is what a flagship costs today only that was 11 years ago!
I agree today's phones don't require as often an upgrade, just not worth it for what you get. Every other year is my new upgrade schedule. Before virtual KB's a good physical KB was prized and Nokia delivered and Blackberry of course, but BB wasn't symbian it was , well, BlackBerry. The E90 was an S60 series and I already had a 9300 communicator which ran the S80 series. S80 never took off like S60 but it was cool non the less in it's own way.
I'll be passing on the Pixel3 as the 2 is still rocking my world and as mentiioned just not enough new under the 3's hood to entice me to cough up that much cash.

6" for me. I totally see why others here prefer more compact form factors. I greedily went with the most screen I could get that would still fit in my jeans front pocket. For me it's a second hand Galaxy Note 3. Which I think is just under 6". Still, I admit that when it's in its protective casing and especially when I'm cycling, it isn't completely unnoticed.

The Communicator sounds fantastic! What a great phone! And dual speakers at that time... Cool beans! I'll Google a photo of it.

I agree - every other year or iteration is a good way to go with regards to upgrading from your current device. There really isn't a justifiable reason, in my mind anyway, to upgrade from a Pixel 2 to a Pixel 3.

The Communicator was a great beast, and better than the Ericsson R380 I had the pleasure of using for a while. The R380 had a semi flip front and could be viewed in portrait and landscape - even had touch screen keypad entry with a plastic pen - but it was monochrome and so chunky that you'd struggle to stuff it into the bulkiest of pockets. But that was over 15 years ago.

I agree with you on upgrade, too. In fact, I'd go further. I think most model updates bring very little of true progress, but every now and again there is a giant leap forward. Nokia 3310, 8880, 9000, Ericsson T68, iPhone, iPhone 4... Easily seen with 20/20 hindsight, but to recognise the leap forward in the moment. Hang on, this is a whole other new thread, isn't it?

My P20 Pro is nice for me before I had this I had a 6p so I am happy with big screen "tall" phones

I agree with you about upgrading! Hindsight is always 20/20... Yet in the moment, we may feel the upgrade is justified...

That truly sounds like an amazing phone, but I must say that I wouldn't like not being able to stuff it into my pocket without going to a lot of effort!
