What Keyboard Are You Using?

I like Smart Keyboard a lot. Looks pretty good.

Here's mine with the Galaxy Bold skin.

I haven't had too many issues with correcting misspelled words. For the most part, the voice recognition does a good job capturing my voice and transcribing it. My experience so far has taught me not to transcribe long sentences since they often get broken up with "uhs and ums" words while my brain thinks. The only real cons for voice to text are looking like an idiot speaking your text in front of people and having poor cell connectivity.

I'll still most likely get swiftkey 3, though, since it is a good keyboard.

I bought swiftkey 3 for $.99 cents, thought what the hell, why not. Used it about a week and switched back to the stock keyboard. I hate that it doesn't have the arrow keys or the hide keyboard key. I didn't really see it saving me much time compared to the swipe function on the stock keyboard. My .02

You can put arrow keys on in the settings [EDIT: under theme]. And to hide the keyboard, you can swipe down on the keys. Also, the longer you use it, the better it gets at predicting your next words.

EDIT 2: Under settings, you can also click on "how to videos." It might be useful to check them out if you've already put money down for it.

Thanks I missed the arrow settings in the setup. That will definitely help. The swipe down to get rid of the keyboard thing I knew about. Don't really like it. But I guess I can get used to it. Thanks again

I always wanna use a keyboard besides SwiftKey because I'm not crazy about the skins. But it adds to much functionality to leave.

The back button < on the phone also gets rid of the keyboard. I never use swipe down.

Very true. I find myself hitting the back button around 20% of the time instead of swiping down.

The biggest reason I use swiftkey is because of the multi language support. Switching from English to Portuguese is literally effortless. And it works just as well. Smart space, prediction, auto correct. Everything. Preference plays a huge role in determining best keyboard, but for polyglots, I don't know a single keyboard that offers more seamless functionality.

You are correct about preferences playing a big role.

Often I see my friends choosing keyboards for looks or novelty rather than functionality.

To them, having a flashy looking keyboard is more important than having one that they can actually type on.

I just shake my head.

Sometimes I challenge them to a speed test, and SwiftKey beats them soundly every time. (Especially the Swype user).

I use jellybean pro from the play store and find it has better learning and next word prediction than swift key
