i have had it with the stock keyboard! i typically WILL NOT pay for a keyboard because i believe it should come with one that just works! one of the only reasons i am back on the stock keyboard is because of the sPen integration. prior to that, i was using the free version of the "jellybean keyboard" which works quite well, but lacks features. so if i am going to break down and buy a keyboard, which one should it be? i have heard good things about this "swiftkey". i would also like one that has text input, voice to text, and a swype style input available.

I prefer the Samsung keyboard, but I think swiftkey is the best keyboard you can buy.

I was the same exact boat as you. I refused to buy a keyboard. But I swallowed my pride and bought swiftkey. YES, there is a huge difference and I haven't looked back since. The only problem I have with swiftkey is that once the phone reboots, it goes back to the default Samsung keyboard. It sucks, but it is worth the inconvenience.

i cracked and bought it as well... i must say it is a huge improvement from the stock keyboard, and the fact i can use it on any device going forward makes it worth th 4 bucks. i will say that i dont have the issue with the phone reverting to stock keyboard once phone reboots... i rebooted a few times just to make sure, and sure enough... it was stil running swiftkey by default.

You must either have rooted or have gotten a magical copy of 4.2.2. Otherwise swiftkey will continue to revert back to an option, and not default, because it's a problem with paid apps in 4.1.2.

I've tried a few different keyboards but still prefer the stock Samsung one. All the keyboards I tried are missing the number keys at the top.

Same here. Number row, handwriting recognition, swype. I find no need to play with other apps.

Mine is rooted and I have that issue with both the stock rom and jedi rom

I am hooked on A.I type keyboard! Love this thing. Free version available to try. $3.99 to buy. Best I've ever had to date.

Swiftkey is awesome, my typing speed has doubled over the Samsung keyboard. Well worth the money. But I do miss the numbers along the top.

Google keyboard for sure. Replaced swiftkey
