Quick question about stock keyboard. I notice that randomly when i try to text someone it wont capitalize the first word automatically. Is this a minor bug that will be fixed or am I missing a setting somewhere? Thanks in advance.
I downloaded the old ShapeWriter.apk (it's been off the market for a long time, but you can still find it around), which I used on my OG Droid for two years, but sadly it does not work on ICS. Not a complete surprise, I guess, but I'm really going to miss that keyboard. I guess I stick with stock for now.
Used to be a swiftkey X user and tried it out at first but the stock keyboard is really good for this size screen. I think if the screen was smaller I would use swiftkey again. Also, the voice input is pretty good with the stock keyboard.
Coming from a Droid X where I used and loved swype. Until swype is ready I'm trying slide It - it is pretty good! Never tried swift key, but I have it and hear good things.

I agree. I always thought the stock keyboard was too small on my droid incredible, but the size is perfect on the nexus. Swiftkey seems almost too big on the nexus and the default keyboard predictions are improved enough that I actually prefer it.
MultiLing. It's a decent keyboard, allows me to insert accented characters easily, has handwriting recognition for Chinese characters (so I can sketch a character into the translator), but the best thing is that it's an excellent terminal keyboard with easy access to CTRL and ALT modifiers.
