What kind of charger do i need for the new LG V40?

any fast charge capable charger with a USB C connection works fine. I even use my Mac laptop charger.

USB Type C. In fact I use the charger that came with my V20. I also use an Aukey 3.0 Dual Quick charger for my vehicle.

You can also use QI wireless chargers. I have had my V40 for about 4 months and have only plugged it in once to charge.

The V40 supports wireless charging up to 15W. The type C connector supports Qi Quickcharge 4.0. So in other words, the latest standardized charging available.

You can use any Qualcomm certified Quick Charger 3 . And you can also use the new Qualcomm certified Quick Charger 4. If you check the Qualcomm site, you will see that the LG V40 is Quick Charge 4 certified. I purchased the Belkin wall model and it works well. The phone does not get warm and charges faster. I haven't quantified how much faster but using a charging app, the QC 3 charger that came with the phone averaged 530 ma and the QC 4 charger averaged 1020 ma.

UPDATE: Do not purchase a Quick charge 4 charger for the LG V40. Even though its Snapdragon chip is capable and certified to use Quick Charge 4 chargers, LG decided NOT to enable this feature. You can use a certified QC4 charger, but it won't charge any faster than a QC3. I ran the test and both QC3 & QC4 chargers charge the LG V40 from 15% to 100% in 1½ hours.
