What messaging app are you guys using?

Just wondering what messaging app you guys are using? I am trying to find one that fits my needs but It seems like slim pickings! A few things that I want are delivery reports that show on the conversation screen when you send (delivery reports) Google Messenger has a setting for this but I don't see it on the conversation screen! Another must is NO ADs! Does Handcent Next have adds on the app or just in the settings screens? I can live with ads in the settings but not in the main app! I am also trying QKsms which is nice but seems to lack a few important settings. Well, let me know what you are running and how you like it!

Textra. If has delivery reports for either MMS or SMS or both. No ads if you buy the app (I think it was 99 cents?). It's already been updated to stop Stagefright, which is a good thing if you're on a carrier that hasn't released a fix yet. Lots of tweaks available in the settings. I especially like that you can respond to messages from within any app via a pop-up that overlays the screen. Altogether I much prefer it to any other messaging apps I've used.

I've been using Hangouts since they integrated SMS/MMS into it. One stop shop for most of the people I talk to.

Also loving Textra. Switched from Google Messenger when it started sending text to the wrong people. I think that problem was corrected in the most recent update. But while waiting for that to get fixed I fell in love with Textra.

I go back and forth between textra and messenger. Right now I prefer messenger.

Maybe I have simple needs and expectations but I'd been using the stock LG app for 2 years on my G2 and still use it on the G4. I never felt like I needed anything else.

I actually quite dislike text messages. I find messaging much quicker and more reliable. I'm probably about 90% messaging (Hangouts, WhatsApp) and 10% text.

I'm using the built-in client. I use Car Home Ultra when I'm driving and it blocks SMS messages when I'm driving. It doesn't block them with Hangouts for some reason or I'd use that.

I flip between stock and messenger. I was with nexus for many years so I try to use stock where I can because I got bored of Google apps

I did try textra but for some weird reason I felt that it was blocking my quick buttons to open camera or memo from lock. It might have been fluke or my imagination though.

In the last few days, I have tried just about every messaging app out there and concluded that Textra, Chomp and Handcent Next were my favorites based on my application 'needs'...I ended up paying the $2.49 and got Textra Pro! There are a few thing's I wish it had like themes other than light, dark and black but all in all, it seems pretty solid. The delivery reports are no fuss with the check marks...I really like that. Chomp had more theme options but I wasn't crazy about the 3 dot delivery reports. I kept thinking something was wrong, LOL! So Textra Pro it is! Thanks for the suggestions...but go ahead and keep them coming! It's nice to see what everyone is using on their LG G4!
