With gingerbread (EL29)and the stock modem (i forget which one it was) i was getting 10Mbps 4G speeds. I decided to give ICS a second chance and everything is working pretty smoothly so far. The last problem i'm having with it is my internet speeds. I have flashed half a dozen different modems, currently using FH13 because its stable when sending picture files via text but i cant get over 1.5ish Mbps downloads with any of the modems iv'e tried so far. And the speeds are pretty sketchy at best. I'm curious if anyone is having better results? if so what modem are you using?

What area are you in? I'm in San Francisco area. I've noticed my speeds are down in the past week from avg of 4-7 mbps to around 1.5-2.5 mbps. In my case I don't think ICS has anything to do with it though. Currently on FI27.

Im having the same exact issue for the past several weeks since the last update. I've called Sprint andSamsung about this problem.
Am not rooted.
I use to get 10mb easily on speed test and now i can get no more then 1.5mb.
3g even sucks.
What should i do?

los angeles. it was definately a software issue because when i flashed back to GB i was back to normal speeds. upgraded to fl27 this morning though and they seemed to have fixed the problem. my 4g speeds are back to normal.

Your right. That's what I'm gonna do. Wait to FL27 hits my phone and see what happens.
I spent part of my day at the Sprint store today to see if they can help resolve my 4G issue and the young non-knowledgeable rep looked at me as if I were a moron when I stated my issue. They stood with my phone for 2hrs and when I got back to the store to get my phone..., he stated that my phone was perfectly fine. I did a factory reset and then did a speed test with my wife's phone right next to my phone and my phone hit 1mbs vs her 12mbs on a speed test. All he could say is... "We can replace your phone with a refurbished one".
I think I'm gonna wait till the update happens and see if it helps... (Fingers crossed). If not then I'm gonna learn how to root it LOL...

I recant my previous statement. My 4G speeds have improved on FI27. I was usually getting around 3mbps to 5mbps. Now I am getting anywhere between 6mbps to 10mbps. I pulled my screenshot from about 12:30PM on an average Monday. I am also not very far from the tower.

No need to wait if you don't want to.

You can force the OTA if you feel like it. Clear Data from Google Framework a couple of times, (Settings -> Applications -> All -> Google Services Framework -> Clear Data), then go back and "Check Samsung Update" or whatever it's called. It may take a few minutes after clearing framework, or you might have to do it a couple of times, but so far this has worked 3 updates in a row for me. The only thing clearing data does is you sometimes have to reselect your default launcher, (if you have installed another launcher like Go or LauncherPro), and I think you have to hit "agree" once more when you try and use something that uses location services, (like Voice Search). Totally painless.

I did the new update today and it fixed my problem...
My phone speedtest did 16mbps with no problem just like it use to.

Thanks for the help on here...
