What next?

Check SWAPPA. They sell phones, and there are sometimes great deals. I see you already ordered something else, so maybe too late, but...
Yeah, I did look there and strongly considered it - the Note was still around $500-600, though, and I wasn't crazy about used without warranty or insurance (which I have had to use more than once so it makes sense for me...).

With the FE via Samsung I got new earbuds thrown in (which I need) and the financing is under $20 a month. If I have to pay it off to upgrade early, hopefully this one will have more value as a trade in (and Tmo won't hamstring unlocked versions as much as they are now!).

I was with HTC from my 1x in 2012 (agree it was better than anything after it!) until I jumped to LG in 2016 with the V20.

It looks like we followed very similar paths. I have an LG V20 as well as the V40. I do a lot of mobile photography so I always purchased devices with good camera set ups so I've always migrated between Samsung and LG. I'm going to miss having LG as an option as I've always had a good user experience with their products

The note 20 has been nothing but stellar for me you can't go wrong. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Well, the FE arrives today, but I've already decided that unless it wows me that I will exchange it for a Note and to hell with it. I've wanted one since the Note 5, so maybe it's just time to stop cheaping out (especially if this turns out to be the last one they make!!)

Now you're talking. Go for it
Good tech is expensive, but settling for something you don't really want just makes you unhappy and you wind up getting something else a year later, and the combined total cost is more expensive than what you could have gotten the first time. 😉

Whoah, that makes TOTAL SENSE! I'll definitely keep this in mind when I am due for my upgrade in the fall... LOOL.

Well, I've just learned that I can use a 3rd party pen/stylus with the FE and get 90% of the features that have made me want a Note all these years - soooo hoping this is true and works, as it then gives me exactly what I need for an amazing price (better size, SD card, ability to write stickies). It arrives tomorrow - here's hoping!!

WHAT? I did not know that! That's so awesome! And you save quite a bit of money, too! Let us know how it works!

Good news: it's a very nice active stylus, and it writes on the screen no problem; this is the first phone I've had that lets you write on it (why I wanted a Note!) soI do like that I can :)

Bad news: I think converting handwriting>text must be an Spen feature that is activated by using that specific pen, as I can't find it in the software (unless I'm just looking in the wrong place).

The stylus itself is kind of chunky - personally I prefer a little smaller, but it's a nicely made and solid piece of kit. It also works on my Yoga laptop, so it will get used even if not as much for the Phone as I hoped. That said, I'm happy I CAN write on the FE screen!

Apparently any phone manufacturer which makes devices I like gets out of the business - I'm three for three with Treo, HTC and now LG lol

My v40 is chugging along after an insurance replacement last year (I broke the screen), but I had planned an upgrade for this year anyway.

I have tended towards flagships for their cameras and their usually larger size, but I'm open to other options that have what I need, given that yesterday's flagship is today's mid range.
Samsung seems the obvious move since I have an Active 2 watch, and I love the idea of a Note, but can't deny I'll miss the SD slot and headphone jack .

Is the A series any good?Would it be better to go with a used note 10?

Speak to me, Samsungians, so I can figure out where to go next. I'm Tmo.
Wowow.!!!......I just went down memory lane with my conky TREO running Windows Mobile.
