UpDate; Well, I guess not to old and due to happen stance, I offered an associate at work if they'd sell me their old N6P-64GB for $100 and they said yes! A short time ago I gave him and old Espresso machine that I had so being kind pays!

What old phone would you buy and why? (for high end specs, speed.) that was say under $250. (With a screen on the larger end of scale). 3 to 4 years old.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Exynos. That is the best old phone you can get that has 2017 features (OIS Camera, Fingerprint scanner, Fast Charging, 5.7inch QHD display, VR support and Metal Frame).

I say Exynos as the Exynos chip variant runs more efficiently, smoother and produces less heat than the Snapdragon.

I wouldn't buy any 4 year old phone. If I had to get a phone that was released ~ 3 years ago I'd go with the Nexus 6. Great build quality, 6" QHD display, turbo and wireless charging, big battery, front facing speakers, 3 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. You can also keep it up to date with custom ROM and kernel.

I have to say none. My last old phone was a iPhone 5S that I loved. But then I made the switch to Droid which reignited the tech geek in me; that died a long time ago due to me being in IT for 20-plus years. But now I am on this forum, reading articles, and etc. Also knowing what I know now in IT, I see no reason to go back to old phones; the present and future embraces what there is today. Why even think about hypothetically going back to an old phone when the phones of today are so much better. Well I have to say it never got better than the flip-phone for no matter if my fingers were wet, sticky or I was driving, that phone did what I wanted effortlessly one-handed and I kid you not, I was able to type paragraphs with absolute accuracy never looking down, while driving, one-handed. There is something to be said about that. Funny thing is during that time I so wanted a Crackberry so I could get the full keyboard but then soon realized how much better the flip-phone was. I have to say, if there was no smart phones I would go back to the flip; Motorola or Nokia.
