What on earth has happened to the photos in my gallery? Very odd. - Moto X (1st Gen)

Hi all, so i just went into my gallery to find a load (if not all) of my photos have messed up and have a pink or a dark smear to them (see pic) very odd!

Also i'm sure the number of photos is a lot higher than i thought...

What's going on, can anyone help? :-[

Are you storing them on an SD card? If so, then it may be corrupt.

If you are lucky, it is only the thumbnail images which are screwed and the full sized files are intact.

Ok, so after scrolling down a fair bit i found my recent photos. It seems that somehow my phone has generated 227 images/ videos out of the blue....right then..

I've deleted them all now.

Hey, this is just a follow-up message to say that i have slight inkling as to how this may have happened.....

There was a feature on the Moto X (1st Gen) that if you double twist the phone it opens up the camera app and then you can take photos ..... I have feeling that this feature kicked in when i took my phone out with me for running and used a running app.

There's a possibility right!?!? Haha
