What one thing makes buying a Nexus 7 go/no-go for you?

Sadly, for me it is currently a no-go.

I do not have access to the internet worldwide...or for that matter inside many buildings, inside parking structures, on a float, a plane, etc...

The one reason I did not buy a Kindle was because it did not have an expansion slot.

I was looking forward to the Nexus 7, as it's price point and footprint places it in Kindle territory (granted the hardware is far superior).

To my dismay...no SD or micro SD slot. $50 to get 8 GB (really more like 6 GB) when $50 will buy me a 64 GB card?

It's a great tablet (my friend has one and I agree it's a very sweet system.) But for me no expansions makes it a no-go. :(

So what your take? What made you decide to bite the bullet and get one? Or is there just that one thing that made you think twice?

With me its a GO! Reason is, i dont plan to use it as a work horse. That is why i have my laptop. Most of the documents i need will be pushed to google drive or drop box, i`ll use something like quick office if I need to edit. but mainly itll be for web browsing and internet usauge. I might do some lite gaming and whenever im on the train or have free time ill read the ocasional book. I feel like 16gb is enough for me.

At $199, it's not gonna have a lot of bells or whistles. I agree that first and foremost an SD slot would be nice, but you have to remember that with each thing they add, it's adding cost to the device. They wanted something that could compete with the $199 KF, and from what I've read, Google's profit margins on this are razor thin already. If you want all those features you mentioned, there are other tabs out there to fit your needs.

For me, I already own an Anroid phone and a full-sized Galaxy Tab, so for me, this was a toy to play with, and possibly something a bit more portable than the GT 10.1. If I were buying this as my first (and only) tab, I probably would have passed -- although I don't really load too much media in mine, so the internal storage size isn't really as big an issue to me.

The fact that the Nexus 7 is running Jelly Bean makes it a go for me. I'm good with the amount of storage it has.

Price. Thats basically it. I've always thought the iPad was a waste of money, but at $249 for the 16GB I just couldn't turn it down. Its going to be a really good replacement for my laptop. I'm selling it as i'm getting married next weekend and we will use my fiance's desktop as our main computer for everything we need.

I only really use my laptop for browsing the internet anyways and i'll have the desktop for all my microsoft office products. Plus this way i can have all my apps on it and also games, plus its ways a TON less than my laptop.

For me its a go, a 7" all singing and dancing tab for $200, its a no brainer.

As for it not having a rear facing camera, if you use a tablet to take photos you need

help,I'm mean seriously who are these people that take pics with a tablet?,and are then so

adamant that there device have a lousy 5 or 8 mega pixel Jpeg camera that they refuse to

buy this bargain, put it this way if tablets ware to be suddenly wiped of the face of the Earth

along with there second rate cameras, I don't think the digital photography world

even blink,trust me I'm a photographer;)

One thing? Cost/performance ratio. $250 for a device with these specs is quite a deal. If amazon didn't change the market with the Fire I bet this would be $299/349.

Well, I bought one but the lack of HDMI out in any sort of manner has me irritated. I, of course, knew this before I bought it but still irritates me and I'm sure for some it will be a deciding fact. Why invest into some of that Google content if you have no way of getting it off?

A GO for me because it's a quad core tab for $199! Come on its pretty amazing that we have this sort of tech at such an affordable price. I don't understand how people could whine about the negatives of this tab at this price.

If Amazon hadn't released the Fire, this probably would have been a 10" fully-loaded "iPad killer" (notice the use of quotes).

I actually do believe that there will eventually be a full-sized, more robust Nexus Tab...but I like what they did here.

They were determined to get a tablet that was both good enough to be called "Nexus" yet simple enough to come in at < $200.

I'll say expect some Nexus Q integration for that, Making HDMI out useless.

It is a no go for me since I got the TF300 one week before this was announced. If there is a Nexus 10 in Fall I may trade the Transformer.

Its a cautious Go for me.
Great Hardware - but highly restrictive platform at the moment. Google Play and the manufacturer say the 1 year warranty is immediately voided the moment you 'root' your Nexus7 to use all those cool apps. So given all the postings about straight up hardware flaws, I gotta live with the limitations for a bit.

My Nexus7 arrived in Perfect Condition ! I love the form factor, the very smooth scrolling and detailed clear screens, the movie trailers and some games look great ! - but ... HBO GO and others are not ready yet for the changes and their apps don't work on Jelly Bean 4.1.1.

My favorite Android game emulators don't work yet on 4.1.1 either. a disappointment.

No go for me... well returning mine anyway. Very underwhelmed by the screen compared to my galaxy tab 7.7.

I know what you mean. My TF300 screen is embarrassed by my SGS2. That Sammy displays are awesome!

It will probally be a no go after thinking about it awhile because of the following things that would use 1. no rear camera with flash, 2. no external card memory, 3. no hdmi but the rest of the specs rock. I know some people have a bad opinon about using a tab for pictures but a simple and decent camera is aplus when you dont wann carry five different single use items.

go - the price is right, it's a beast spec-wise for the money, and you can mod the heck out of it.

no go - you dont want to buy books/magazines/movies/games from google to use on a tablet. or simply dont have 200 to throw on a toy.

:)
